He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God? (Micah 6:8)
The requirements of God are not overt religiosity but a life demonstrating the values of the Kingdom of God. We are called to live our lives and not simply talk about them. God is a God of justice; His justice is inextricably tied to His mercy. We must learn from him to be Just and Merciful in the manner of our Lord, who at the Cross, demonstrated both – the Justice and the Mercy of God. We are called to live our lives walking humbly with our God instead of rejecting him in our quest for independence and self-reliance. We are called to learn from him, getting transformed into His likeness and glorifying Him by our acts of Mercy and Justice.
