Launch of letter writing campaign to free imprisoned pastor in Turkey

The World Evangelical Alliance a global ministry with a network of churches in 129 nations and over 100 international organizations with a platform to more than 600 million evangelical Christians, is calling for a letter writing campaign to the Interior Ministry of Turkey asking for the release of a U.S. pastor Dr Andrew Brunson who they say has been falsely charged with holding “membership in an armed terrorist group”.

He has been held for over three months and they are demanding his release. They say he has served as a Pastor in Izmir, Turkey for the past 23 years.

A statement from the World Evangelical Alliance says, “Dr. Brunson has served according to the teaching and practice of his Christian beliefs. He does not support and is not associated with any groups or organizations operating against the Turkish State.

“He desperately needs help and we are urging letters to be written to the Interior Ministry of Turkey with his name ‘Andrew Brunson’ written in large font either within the letter or on the envelope, urging his release.”

The letter can be sent to the following address: Sayin Bakan Suleyman Soylu, TC Icisleri Bakanligi Icerisinde Bakanliklar, 06580 Cankaya, Ankara, Turkey.
