indonesian-christians-in-prayerA two-year-old girl caught up in an attack outside an Indonesian church earlier this month has died from her wounds.

The toddler, Intan Olivia Marbun, was playing with other children outside the church in the city of Samarinda when an attacker on a motorbike threw explosives into a parking area in front of the church. She died the following day (Monday 14 November) from extensive burns and respiratory problems. Three other children were treated for less serious injuries.

According to reports the suspected attacker who has been detained was wearing a T-shirt with ‘jihad’ written on it. He has previously been jailed for involvement in terrorist activity. Five others have also been detained. All six are believed to be part of Jamaah Anshorut Tauhid (JAT) – a group which supports so-called Islamic State.
