UK Parliament flooded with red light to mark ‘Red Wednesday’
Many British historic buildings were flooded in red light to mark ‘Red Wednesday’ a yearly event of solidarity with persecuted Christians.
This year the Palace of Westminster, Westminster Abbey, Westminster Cathedral and many other historic buildings were bathed in red light.
The Red Wednesday initiative is set up by Aid to the Church in Need a Roman Catholic organisation working with persecuted Christians.
ACN said that red is the Christian colour of martyrdom and that the event was set up to “honour all Christians who suffer and die for their faithfulness to Christ’s message of peace and love.”
